Tips:

 

27-02-05: Always take datums  before cutting out panels and make sure when doors are off gaps have beams fitted between hinge bolts and striker plate bolts to stop sag - see pictures.

 

Wear goggles when grinding and suitable gloves when handling sharp metal.

Complete strip, evaluation and full restoration of the tub, bonnet, doors and boot lid.

Re-building the doors

Both doors are rotten underneath and in the front surfaces and need patching and re-skinning.

Edge being ground down to help remove return from original skin - use a metal disc in an angle grinder and pull the leading edge of the disc backwards along the edge removing small amounts at a time - wear safety goggles! When a dark burn line appears evenly 1mm wide all along, the edge can be carefully pulled back with pliers - wear gloves! 4 or 5 spot welds need releasing as well as a braze at the corner near the window.
